Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s located in the centre, not far from Chiesa di San Francesco, which we visited first. It was really very interesting, great experience, but this church was a plain, average one. It was built from 1612 in Baroque style. I think the most interesting and notable part of the church: two altars from 1678 and the gilded carved gallery. It’s free, so it’s worth to visit and look around.

Not much to see outside, apart from the dome. Inside it is nice and worth a visit. Every church is different and we find the variety interesting.

Whay a beautiful and peaceful church. So glad I visited, there was a service in progress and I sat at the back. Plenty to see, and well worth including in a walk about the town.

Saint Michael’s Church is one of the most important Baroque-style buildings in Sardinia. In 1503 Alghero was designated as a diocesan seat, but the church did not open until 1593.
The distinguishing exterior is its majolica tiled roof dome which can be seen from all around the city. Built of sandstone, there are two marble statues representing the Annunciation above the entrance doors.
Inside the church the architecture is very striking and Saint Michael is depicted in several sculptures and paintings seen as you walk around this beautiful church.
Close to the centre of the city so you can find refreshments in one of the many bars and restaurants nearby.
Entrance is Free so do go and see this magnificent church.

You cannot miss this church with it's colourful dome. As I have said about all the churches in Alghero it is well worth a look if you are in this lovely town. I always drop them a few euros before going out it doesn't hurt you.

A lovely tiled dome, a number of opulent chapels and other expressive details are the highlights of this great church in the heart of Alghero.
