It was a very nice tasting, and their wines were good/affordable. I thought the tasting was a little expensive for 5 wines and a a few hors d’ouvres, but I enjoyed it. Just a note, you cannot buy wine by the glass or stay longer than the tour unless you are a hotel guest.

Thank you for the overall nice review. Concerning price fortunately almost all the visitors we have think that 5 wines (half glass for each wine) + little apetizers for each wine (which you usually pay as extra in other wineries), water, olive oil and table olives on a private table nicely set + 1 hour of English speaking guide for 22 euro is a correct price. It is a "guided tasting service" and the guide has to be paied, it is not like in a wine bar where you order the wine and chat with friends. The bar service is offered only for rooms' guests, this is pretty normal. If you wanted to spend the day here sitting outside in the garden or by the pool enjoying a glass of wine you should have booked a room in the guesthouse, the farm service you booked does not incude the rooms' services.

This was my first ever wine tasting experience and although not a big wine drinker, I was open to going to the vineyard. And I am very glad I did! The vineyard and grounds are stunning and Anna Maria, the owner and tour guide was a wonderful host, guiding us through her vineyard, pointing out the grapes which would make the wine and the olives which are picked for eating and for pressing for oil. As someone who works in the agriculture industry it was genuinely fascinating to hear about the growth to production process. The highlight was the wine tasting itself where we sampled the 4 wines that are produced at the vineyard along with meat and cheese to complement each. Wine and olive oil is available for purchase directly at extremely reasonable prices and if you aren't restricted by Ryanair luggage restrictions I'd highly recommend buying as much as you can! We were staying in Alghero town and did not have our own transport but Easy Alghero, which is a strand of the tourism board, organise a return bus for 5euro per person which is extremely reasonable given the price of taxis. (The Easy Alghero office is located in the old town-call in and book your tickets as I don't think they organise a bus every night). All in all a great trip.

If you go to Alghero make sure you go to Azienda Agricola for the wine tasting trip . Set in a lovely location with an excellent host Annamaria you are taken around the vineyard and olive groves by the owner Annamaria. She speaks excellent English and gave a very interesting and informative tour. After, we sat down to a wine tasting of the vineyards produce of various wines and olive oils. There was an abundance of wine and cheese to taste and olive oils and bread. It was not stuffy or formal but relaxing and interesting. Don't miss it!!!!!

This for me was probably the highlight of our trip, was a bit sceptical when our taxi driver from Alghero did not know where it was despite my handout with address etc but he was a nice guy and got out of the car several times to ask locals where it was.

Eventually we made it there (10 mins) late, (guide & host) Annamaria and the other guests waiting on us however from our point of view it was well worth the wait.

First thing that struck me walking up the grove was the large fir trees leading up to this beautiful country house, then the tour commenced very informative and the scenery was fantastic from the wine groves and olive groves as well as a thorough insight into the vineyeard from our guide and the accompaniment of the two resident dogs and cat. Although the vineyeard and olive groves are small I think that really adds to the charm of this place.

Then back to the country house for tasting of some beautiful wines and cheese and a background to each, the house itself was magnificent as were the grounds.

It was an excellent break from the town for a few hours and I will definitely be back to Alghero and will stay in the vineyeard this time.

We ended up buying some wine, disappointed we couldnt buy more or any olive oil as it was delicious but we wouldnt have been able to get it back to Ireland with everything else, damn Ryanair!!!! As i have said above Annamaria was a wonderful host and guide and did not try the hard sell of products etc you might get elsewhere, so all in all I would highly recommend this trip.

Just to add to the glowing comments already given, here's our experience of the vineyard when we visited in early September. Even though they were about to start harvesting the grapes, Annamaria went out of her way to fit us in for a tour. So did she rush us through so she could get on with the harvest? No, she did not - she took us leisurely around the vines and the olive trees, answering all our questions at length and imparting her vast knowledge of wine and olive oil production.
She then took us to the beautiful main house (which also serves as a B&B), where we tasted the different wines they produce, accompanied by various strengths of pecorino cheeses to complement each one, and a selection of lovely breads.
They are an small, independent producer and are passionate about making the highest-quality products. The proof is in the tasting, and I have to tell you that every wine tasted incredible, as did the olive oil. I'll think about that the next time I hover over a bland, tasteless bottle of Hardy's or Jacob's Creek in the supermarket.
Even during the tasting, Annamaria was telling us more about the wine and cheese combinations, and offering tips for what to look for when sampling wines. She was the perfect host, and we left with fascinating (and useful) knowledge in our heads, lovely wine, bread and cheese in our bellies, and a marvellous bottle of red in our bag (you can buy the amazing olive oil, too).
Anyway, enough typing... if you only do one thing in Alghero, please make it this.

We are a bit surprised after a short visit. The place has high ratings but we really did not get a warm welcome. I’ve never visited such an unfriendly place in Italy. So, no, I don’t recommend it.

Dear Lady, you perfectly know that your review is just a sort of Revenge since you were not able to do what you wanted. It is not true that you did not get a warm welcome, but you could not attend the tasting you wanted to when you wanted to do it. It is clearly advertised on our website that guided tastings are at fixed times and by reservation only. We offer a pretty complex service where people seat in pre-booked tables and a guide provides a one hour explanation. This is why the service has to be reserved and we cannot add anyone in case you arrive when it is right in the middle with the tasting room full, which is what happened with you: you arrived here at 4.30 pm in an afternoon with terrible weather and wanted to do the tasting. We kindly said that the service had started at 4 pm and it was not possible to join the group because too late. We offered the possibility to book a tasting in the next few days but you refused. We could not offer the possibility to seat outside and try something as it was raining really hard and also had to tell you that the Vineyard was too wet and muddy to visit. The only thing we could do was to offer a service another day. Since I know most Readers will read this review I would like to underline the fact that OUR SERVICES ARE BY RESERVATION ONLY.

We took a taxi from alghero. This cost us 50 euro there and back. Bit expensive. However since the tour and tasting only cost 20 euro pp i still think it was well worth it. Great tour with lots of information about wine and olives in a beautiful surrounding. The tasting was great, each wine was paired with some type of cheese or meat. And all four wines was really exeptional. We would gladly come here again.

My husband and I did the guided wine tasting and olive oil tasting. Each of the wines was paired with a pecorino cheese - and each wine was quite different and very good. This is an artisanal wine producer - and was started by a mother and daughter. It was a great experience overall and we'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This hotel is located in a beautiful place 15 minute drive from Alghero. The restaurant is beautiful and the 1 hour tasting is well-organised. We got 4 tastes of cheeses and wines. You learn some fun facts about the wines and it serves as a nice introduction to the wine culture on the island. Afterwards, you can buy some of their products.

Thank you for the nice review, but I would like to underline a few things that could be misleading for other visitors: we are a farm and main business in wine and oil production and this page Regards wine tastings and visits of the Vineyard. We are not an Hotel even if we have a very small guest house with 6 rooms and we DO NOT have a restaurant. I wanted to make this clear because otherwise many people might think to come here for a service we do not offer.

Ana Maria and Valeria guided us through the wines and the wineyard in a very pleasant way. Walking through the winefield, tasting the grapes ripe and warm by the sun was very nice. I always thought that grapes you use to make wine wasn't edible but infact they were very nice, both the Merlot and the Cannonau. Next time I am going to stay for a week on the lovely Agriturisimo wineyard. If I am lucky I might even get to help picking the grapes!
