Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had some difficulty finding the beginning of the hike. The park is large and the trails do not all start from the same place.
We took the trail that leads to Cape Giglio. The trail is easy but in August it is very hot. Provide sufficient water. Some picnic tables are available along the trail.
Once reached the end, the view of Capo Caccia is magnificent. A bar allows for a short break after this walk of about an hour.
On the way back, we took the path that runs along the sea and leads to a small beach whose swimming is nice after the Point of Sale.
Almost no one we met during the ride. More people on the small beach but not the crowd either.
Little downside, we had to pay 24 euros to enter the park, three, which remains a little expensive.

Finally we found somewhere in Sardinia that isn’t littered with rubbish! Just wonderful. We took our bikes into the park and followed one of the trails. Highly recommend for those looking for a healthy day out in the nature. Take your own food and drinks as there isn’t anything available in the park.

This is a beautiful national park 30 mins by bus from Alghero. Despite the beautiful nature in this area there are few hiking trails that are marked on a map. In this part of Porto Conte National Park there are however many beautiful trails both for hiking and cycling. I'll suggest you to take be beach bus from Alghero to Maristella or Porto Conte and start by the park entrance opposite of Porto Conte Marina. From there you find a lovely 1 hour walk along the coast to Punta Giglio where you'll have an amazing view of Capo Caccia. We then continued along the coast and through the forest and walked all the way to Lazaretto beach. In total this was about 13 km/4 hours including some breaks. The last part to the beach was on the main road but it's not that much traffic so it was alright. It says in the brochure that you should wear long pants, but I don't agree. If you stick to the main paths for hiking or cycling you are perfectly fine with shorts as the trails are wide.
Our hotel did not have any information about this park but I asked at Tui travel agency and they had a map. I'll recommend you to get one before going there. You also find one on the the park homepage, it's only in italian but if you click on "Estensione" in the meny at the bottom of the page you find the map :)

This is well worth an early morning or late trip. The scenery is stunning. It's quite and just lovely. You need your walking shoes to do the park justice and don't forget to take a picnic and plenty of water.

Extremely beautiful countryside with some amazing views. Very decent paths and well signposted. Never seen so many wild bees on wild flowers, and the butterflies brilliant too. Views from the old army look-outs are fantastic too. Well worth taking the time to walk around.
Access is easy, parking well provided. Nearby restaurant/bar and ice-creams available across the road.

No need to book a tour to go on this lovely walk.
We drove up to just short of Porto Conte, just after Maristrella and found a great little car park at the start of the national park walk. Tickets cost €3 to get in, the ranger was welcoming, gave us a guide book and explained the walk to us (walk 22 in the Sunflower book series) same walk also mentioned on numerous other sites), toilets at entrance are clean.
We had a great walk, about 5.5miles all told, took us about 2.5hours. I’d recommend walking shoes or trainers as lots of scree and uneven rocks, lovely views, great undergrowth, not too strenuous, interesting WW2 buildings and lovely viewpoints.

We did the hike/walk from Porto Conte Marina to Punta Giglio and it was really doable without great condition, very beautiful especially when you walk the sea-side route. Beautiful views from Punta Giglio and interesting WWII remnants.

To visit the natural reserver park, you need to pay ticket of 3 Euro/person but if you are a couple or a group, you can buy group ticket which costs 5 Euro.
You will find milestones after walking some distance explaining about the flora of the natural reserve during 7km walk into the park. You will find some great views of Sardinia with sea, mountains.
When you reach at one end of the natural forest you find some ruins from WWII.

The national park is a nice area with wome good walking paths. It takes about an hour to go from the entrance to the cliffs at the end of the park with some interesting WW2 ruins.

Lovely (but long!) walk around the national park with great views of the coast. Took the longer, flatter root and saw deer and donkeys. Take lots to drink as its further than it seems!

Hi, we'd like to do a short walk in the Parco di Porto Conte when we visit Alghero. Where do I find information about the walks (blue / yellow walks?) and a map. We have a 7 year old and 10 year old but they are good walkers. The website has no English translation and last year we weren't successful in finding any marked walks. Thank you.
