Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Arrive around 10 am and not later than 11:30 am. One time we totally missed the ladies cause we came late. Otherwise it was such a nice experience and nice ti see the ladies to make pasta from dough.

You have to visit the small street. Just some steps from from the Bari castle. It is always interesting to see how a local specialty is being made. I would not buy them due to hygiene reasons, but curious and the street is nice.

You can see Italian mammas and grannies making oriecchette in front of their homes all along this tiny street - this is not a tourism act, they just do it and sell to locals who come by for their daily fix of typical Pugliese pasta to cook at home. On my stroll I even encountered the Apulia President with his entourage shopping and chatting to the women there :) they also sell the traditional biscuits and sun-dried tomatoes, all for a song. So glad I had this experience!

I met Nunzia - La signora delle orecchiette di Bari Vecchia, she has her own Facebook page and is always working! I brought home 3 bags of orecchiette.

This is such a beautiful street and you have to visit this place if you like pasta. Ladies are very friendly and would tell you all those stories how to prepare this local orecchiette. We did love this place.

Probably I get there in a wrong time, all I could see were few tables with some pasta and an almost empty street.

We watched or le Signorelli making the pasta by hand in various flavours, and sampled. They seem to be there from midmorning to mid afternoon. We found them by looking for the castle they sit in the alleyways facing the castle.

So nice that the traditions of this village are still alive. Ladies making traditional orecchiette and crackers in the streets, and offerring them for sale, while chatting about life.

This is a pedestrian street with many women from each household outside their own homes making orecchiette by hand. They also have delicious dolce ready to purchase
