Very impressive both inside and out.

The nicest church that we saw on our trip to Vicenza. Though it is brick built (or at least brick clad on the outside) rather than made of stone it is very impressive both inside and out.

Lots of wonderful paintings on the inside and various other statues and the line. To me it is more impressive that the Cathedral, hence if you only have time to visit one, visit this one.

Lots of history inside and free to visit/wander around. You can take pictures inside if that is your thing.

Impressive building.

We are so positively surprised by the "grandeur" of Vicenza. This church, annex buildings with nice inner courtyard, is worth a visit when in Vicenza. Nice to see the investments done to safe our history for future generations.

Attractive church

Large gothic church, a 5-minute walk from Corso Palladio like all the main sites. Austere & imposing inside. Dates back to 1200. Free to enter.

Beautiful and must see

This is a truly beautiful medieval church amidst the sweeping Palladian architecture which pops up everywhere in Vicenza . Each makes you appreciate the other. The fine Palladian basilica a few minutes walk away built as a town hall and this lovely older church contrast well.

Frescos a medieval cloister and various other pieces of art and architecture await quiet enjoyment outside. If you are a medieval buff then this is a must see especially the portico outside

Nice and tranquil
Aug. 2016 • Friends
There's a lovely enclosed garden round the back of the church; turn right as you face the main door and walk anti-clockwise round the church till you find a small gate. I tranquil, shady spot. Enjoy.

Stunning church in the historical center
Jan. 2017 • Couples
I truly disagree with the previous reviewer's comment that this church is "average". I cannot fathom how one can describe this cathedral in such a mundane way. Perhaps this lad was having a bad day, I don't know. But don't be put off by that comment and see the church for yourself. It is just beautiful. The facade is not an ornate Gothic masterpiece, like something you'd see in Milan - perhaps that's what the previous reviewer was comparing it to. Quite unfair. The facade, instead, is more modest yet truly lovely and special. Inside the church is adorned with magnificent artwork. It is quite large with an abundance of seating. It was quite peaceful and serene. I invite you to see what I mean - it is magnificent!

good location
Aug. 2015 • Couples
It has got a nice piazza in front with a fountain and coffee places and some sort of sculpture the kids played on. As churches go in Italy it is quite average, nice enough to peek into.

one of many beautiful buildings

Vicenza is like a well kept secret amongst Italian cities, most people skip it and go from Venice to Verona, and they really miss out. San Lorenzo is just one example of beautifully preserved architecture in the heart of the city.

Gothic facade
Sep. 2013 • Couples
Went into this church because we were passing, later saw pictures of the courtyard which we obviously missed. Beautiful artwork, but not an abundance of it and nothing that stood out as being spectacular, but certainly worth a visit, especially since it
was free to enter.
