Take the time to make the trip up to the castle as you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of Verona. You don’t have to climb the hill as there is a funicular to take you up and down for €2.

We rode the funicular up to the castle and from the Piazzale the view of Verona is great. Unfortunately we did not check the hours of the castle and it was closed during siesta time.

Wasted a few minutes crossing back over the river to go to this amphitheatre. All shut with no way in. Couldn't even get a decent photo. Big shame. Don't bother unless you know that is open.

There is a lovely view over the city. It’s worth taking the railway up and walk back down as the path goes past the Roman theatre

The views from the top were simply breathtaking. Amazing and panoramic views were offered of the beautiful city of Verona. The walk to the top wasn't too bad, but definitely worth the climb. Well recommended.

This is a big climb up a long and steep stone staircase but it’s well worth it for the views. There are several points to take photos from and it’s worth a visit at night to see the city lit up. There is an alternative...More

The funicular makes getting to the top ever so easy and the views (and beautiful cypress trees) are worth making a visit to the top. You can take the stairs, but 300 on a hot, sunny day make the 2 euro fare (round trip) makes...More

The view from this hill is astonishing: the old town, the river, the other hills. You can climb up to the top, or take the new funicular (2 euros, for a round trip) - very comfortable and convenient. Wonderful both during the day, and with...More

It is 300 metres and about 7 minutes to walk. I didn't count the steps though :-)
