En route between il Duomo and San Zeno we discovered this unusual church, slightly unassuming from the outside and inside a large open space under a wide vaulted roof - unsupported by nave pillars and with decorative paintings and frescoes. Noticeable across the roofscape of...More

This church has not the splendour of some of the other major churches but is definitely worth seeking out. It seems very quiet and free from tourist groups - but that is an advantage.

The exterior is uninspiring and therefore doesn't command the viewer to walk inside. This holy site should be left to its parishoners for prayer and reflection.

A lovely find which is a stone's throw from the Palazzo Victoria. Said to be finished in the 14th Century there are some lovely frescoes by Caroto and it provides a quiet refuge after a busy day for quiet reflective time.

Utterly amazing. If you're into churches, this is not to be missed. It looks very unassuming from the outside but there's a big surprise awaiting you inside. It is vast.

This church is free to visit & provided a welcome refuge from the temperatures in the 30s! Like other ecclesiastical buildings in Italy, the interior has many interesting things to see.

I believe that the churches of Verona are all beautiful but Santa Maria in Organo is a kind of pearl of rare beauty. The church is simple, very characteristic and ancient, dating back to the fifteenth century. Located in the homonymous "Piazzetta Santa Maria in...More

This Church is a hidden gem from 6th century and rebuilt in the 1470's by Fra Giovanni of Verona. It is full of frescoes, the finest examples of marquetry in the choir room and once had the alter piece painted by Andrea Mantegna (now in...More

A wonderful little church, very simple, with a calmness and sanctity that is missing from some of the larger, more ornate churches.

Canizzano,18 31100 Treviso
