You are bound to pass through here if you spend a few days in Verona. It is near Piazza della Erbe. It is less crowded and void of street market and vendors. We passed through on our way to see the Scaliger Tombs and the museum.

There is a statue that honors Dante Alighieri.

One of many interesting Owen public spaces in Verona. Lots if interestin architectural things here and close to the bell tower in the heart of the city. You would be hard pressed to avoid it if visiting and it’s a most interesting place

This is a beautiful square with a few restaurants and a few places to sit on the square to enjoy a piece of pizza and a cool drink. Very centrally located as far as tourist attractions go, so this can be a point of reference during your visit. We sat here and had lunch before finishing our day visit to Verona.

This is a nice quieter square with a beautiful statue of Dante. You still have close access to many of the main attractions within minutes. A nice place to sit on the steps and have a snack lunch.

Very close to piazza della Erbe, this piazza was the power centre of Verona and is also known as Piazza Dante. The figures atop the surrounding palazzos represent worthy Veronese citizens. It’s close to the Scaligeri tombs and is surrounded by restaurants.

Verona is an exceptionally beautiful city with a rich history. It is full of beautiful buildings, palaces, streets, churches and squares. One of the most significant and one of the most beautiful squares is the Piazza dei Signori. At this square we came from Piazza delle Erbe and through the pass Arco della Costa. It is surrounded by beautiful palaces in which decisions were made on the cultural, economic and political life of Verona. We especially enjoyed the splendid Palazzo Loggia del Consiglio, the Palazzo degli Scaligeri (who were Signori di Verona from 1260 to 1387), on the one hand, as well as in the beauty of Palazzo del Capitano and Palazzo della Ragione on the other side of the square. Both were built in the 14th century.
In the center of the square finds the monument to Dante (1865), statue of 3 meters in Carrara white marble. We enjoyed in beautiful architecture and in the spirit of medieval Verona.

This is where you'll find Dante, the statue, and the popular Dante Café, especially with locals. It is also the seat of the government of the province.

The Piazza dei Signori, also known as Piazza Dante, is perhaps the most beautiful square in Verona and is almost next to the equally famous Piazza delle Erbe.
The Piazza dei Signori used to be the absolute center of power in Verona.
You can still see the remains of it today: the buildings around the square used to serve as a court and headquarters of the then ruling della Scala family.
In the middle of the square there is a statue of the Italian writer Dante Alighieri.
This large statue has dominated Piazza dei Signori since 1865 and is also the origin of its nickname, Piazza Dante.
Another important building is the Loggia del Consiglio. It was built in the 15th century and served as a meeting place for the then city council.
It was also built right in front of the Palazzo del Capitano, the place from which Venice exercised its power over Verona.
