- Sally WHythe, United Kingdom1,165 contributionsEasy and quick access to the panoramic viewsThe best way to get to the top and see wonderful views of the town. The funicular is very quick and efficient and we went early so there were no queues. Much easier than walking up all those stairs! Try to choose a sunny day - it was too misty when we went there.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 October 2023
- Juanita HBallina, Australia265 contributionsDefinitely a great viewWe went up in the morning as soon as it opened and went straight up. Really cheap to do and fabulous views up the top. We got some great footage. Got back down with no wait time also. We spent about half hour up there, there is also a cafe up top. Definitely worth a visitVisited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 May 2024
- Marissa240 contributionsBreathtaking Panoramic Views of VeronaWe went around 6pm on a Monday and were looking to avoid a lot of stairs, as we had already done a walking tour earlier that day. The ticket machine was easy enough to figure out (there are individuals who can help you as well) and for us, there was no line at all. Was €3 per person for a round trip, so well worth it for our group. The views from the top are stunning and the bar right at the top was a perfect spot to enjoy a spritz while enjoying the sunset. I would absolutely recommend.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 30 June 2024
- Brown_SamanthaKennewick, Washington1,730 contributionsFun and easy way to go up to the top for a sweeping view of old town VeronaThis is just a short walk from the bridge that crosses the Adige River. You get tickets from the self served kiosks. Funicular ride up to the top is nice and smooth, fairly small and could be a bit hot on a warm day. Once you get to the top, it is easy to see why people love doing this. Just amazing views down to old town Verona. You can see for miles and miles. All the major sights: Verona Arena, the duomo, the cathedral. Lamberti Tower.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 14 July 2024

Very nice modern funicular. Very easy and straightforward to find and get tickets, costs 1.5€ one way. I only took it to get to the top and then walked down.
The view from the top is amazing!! Don’t miss it! When I visited it was a bit foggy but still it’s a breathtaking view! The funicular cuts a bit of time and difficult to get to the top!

This is an easy and short diversion to take the train up and enjoy panoramic views of the city. It isn’t very expensive and it is worth the trip. Unfortunately the building at the top was closed so aside from the views, there was nothing else to do. We were up there 30 mins. The service is frequent.

Along with the wine, the views from this hill were our favourite thing in Verona.
We actually walked up, had no idea that the funicular was operating during a time of Covid- when we saw it was, we decided to get it down as a treat. Not only were we the only people using it on our descent, but I was amazed that we pressed a button to 'call' it from the bottom of the hill and then once we were in it, to start our journey- like a lift! So cool and the ride was really smooth.

For a couple of Euro you can get the best view of Verona going up the funicolare. A short ride and when on top more views all around. Unfortunately the church was closed for renovations but still lots to do and see. Even a coffee or snack. You can go back down or as we did n easy walk down the steps to the street where you come out at another display of Roman ruins near the Adige

Great ride up to a high point in the city with wonderful views across the city - well worth doing it. Can get busy so I'd recommend doing it earlier in the day. There is also a bar at the top where you can get drinks and rest.

Very easy to access in smart, modern building. The funicular is spacious and fun. I think it was 1Euro pp one way.Great views at the top and a smart restaurant where we had a coffee...the most expensive we had in Verona at 4Euro each for black coffee but an unbelievably smart place .Lovely to walk down after taking loads of pix of the city and Fuomo Adige

We took the funicular up to Castel San Pietro and walked down. We arrived just after the funicular opened and so only waited a few minutes. It's a short trip up and an easy walk down! Great views on a sunny day.

Hi
Do you have to pay to enter the grounds of Castel San Pietro?
Or just the cable car fee?
Thank you
Samx
Written 27 September 2019
Just the Cable Car fee. The actual castle itself could have an entrance fee. however the grounds around it are for free..

Herzlichen Dank. MKS
