Murano, Burano and Torcello Half-Day Sightseeing Tour

5,014 reviews
This sightseeing tour allows you to see three islands in the Venetian Lagoon in half a day. Visitors often visit Murano—well-known for its glass-blowing factory—but fewer make it to Burano and Torcello, with their lace-making shops and ornate palaces and churches. The tour also offers two departure times a day, making it easier to fit into your schedule.

We spent a brilliant morning with Massimiliano. He gave us a quick history of glass in Venice, a demonstration of glass blowing then taught us to heat and shape glass ourselves into a couple of pendants. It's a bizarre texture, and really interesting to do the process yourself. His explanations were clear and informative (he made us pretend to do all the steps without the flame first which felt stupid but was actually really effective for learning the position of hands etc). Cannot recommend highly enough. Just wish we'd had a longer class so I could experiment more!

My boyfriend and I were already really interested in the beautiful glass in venice and murano. We came across this workshop and wanted to give it a try. It was absolutely worth it. After a brief intoduction we got a demonstration. The artist has a lot of experience and helps you every step of the way into making your own pandant. We loved this experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in glass art.

I found his shop accidently yesterday evening, and I went in after I saw all the amazing glass products in the window. He was making a beautiful huge glass statue for the carnevale. All his product is beautiful, statues, jewellery, lots of other stuff. He's very friendly and funny, helped me to choose something nice. I was looking for something nice for myself all day but nothing looked good enough, all touristy cheep products, until I found his shop. I happily paid the little extra to have something hand made and beautiful. I'm very happy with the purchase. Thank you very much!! (sorry for my grammar, English is my second language :D)

We booked an hour and a half personal glass making class on GetYourGuide, and were happy that this very Venetian activity turned out to be interesting, educational and pleasant. Massimiliano is passionate about his art and is a great teacher, showing us a couple of his techniques. We even got to make and keep our own glass pendants. Thank you Massimiliano!
