There is always a lot of tourists in the San Marco area of Venice, especially in the Spring and Summer. However, in the evening it is less crowded making it more enjoyable. There are may fine shops selling leather goods, glass from Murano, and great restaurants. I love the fact that you can enjoy your dinner either inside or outside of most restaurants. The food is great and you can have a relaxing meal where you are never rushed to finish and get out. Europeans do enjoy having longer, relaxing meals versus Americans who are always rush, rush. It is nice to" take the time to smell the roses" as the saying goes. As an American I welcome the relaxing atmosphere of Europe and Italy.

Simply amazing in every way. It's Huge and beautiful. It was designed to show off the City of Venice's wealth and power. The more churches you had the wealthier your town was. Pay the extra euro to look at the plaque behind the altar. It is solid gold and covered in precious stones. It is shockingly beautiful.

My wife and I visited San Marco Island, not only did we see the glass blowing demonstration, but we also took a long walk around the village. Nice shops and restaurants, as well as great places for photos.

3 of us went on this guided tour of Murano Glass factory and Burano Lace (10 June 2017) The trip was guided by Allessandro who was exceptional and couldn't do enough for us to make the afternoon excellent. Sadly the glassware, although beautiful was out of our price range.
