The area
Neighbourhood: San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

An experience well worth the boat ride
Aug. 2019
A short water taxi ride will take you to the lovely island of Murano Glass Venice. The staff are fantastic, the glass blowing exhibition is amazing & the sales office is enormous with very well priced gifts & souvenirs from a huge range of beautiful glassware from bottle corks to magnificent art work. It is well worth the enjoyable boat trip.

Sep. 2019 • Family
Visited this place and after visiting few glass factories fell in love with all the amazing work.

I spent almost 5 hours looking through the shops and few of them date back to 1245.

Loved this place. An awesome place to buy the glass artwork.

Went to visit the glass factory at Murano and was met by a gentlemen named Bruno you was our escort for the time we were at the factory and museum . We saw how the pieces of glass begin and become works of art. At the end we went into the showroom and saw amazing pieces of blown glass some worth in six figures . We did end up with a couple beautiful things though not in six figures lol.So if in Venice take a day excursion to this island you may find something of beauty to take home.

Interesting activity to see, but expensive glassware to buy!
Apr. 2018 • Family
We visited this Glass making activity, in Murano. They charge few Euros per person including kids for watching this glass making activity. It's worth the price. but the glasswork they have on display is heavily priced. They demonstrate glass blowing and a glass horse making.

Small factory
Dec. 2018
We signed up for a tour and were brought to a small factory to watch glass blowing and making. The demonstration was only about 10 minutes. After which, we were brought to a shop selling Murano glass and were told to stay there for almost 45 minutes.
