This is one of my favourite churches in Venice as well as a very popular Church for weddings. It is a gem of marblework in all its simplicity.

We recently visited this church early in the am. We visited during the week and there was a wedding that was about to start. Most churches in Venice close from 12-3, so be sure you plan in advance.
this is one of our favourite places, we returned several times. The atmosphere, and architecture, art, and sanctity was very moving.
We came across this church by chance, during our walks around Venice, as this is the way we think we will see the best of the city, any city. It's a lovely place, with marble walls, and it looks quite pretty outside and inside too....More

This church is squeezed between canals and footpaths. It is a small delight, a change from the overblown baroque elsewhere. The marble has been finely carved and is used to great effect.
