This little church is not too difficult to find. It is very pretty, both inside and out. There is a Madonna sitting on the alter that is supposed to work miracles. Hmm.

Not easy to find and properly hemmed in, this is an architectural marvel. The exterior glistens with coloured marble sheets. Inside, there's a raised balcony to hide the nuns from view, and the altar is raised at the top of steps above the nave. Best...More

Wonderful architecture of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, with a nice coupole, invite to visit the Renaissance church; all in white marble and a wonderful decoration; the canal nearby has also the name dei Miracoli, deepen faith, and every day would be full of wonder and...More

Although this church is small, out of the way, and hard to find, it is a true treasurer. It is a beautiful church both inside and outside.

A small church but a masterpiece of simplicity in marble, hidden away in the backwaters of Venice. It's best known for the stunning painting of the Virgin Mary above the altar, but my prevailing memory will be the serenity created by the wonderful marble both...More

This church is squeezed between canals and footpaths. It is a small delight, a change from the overblown baroque elsewhere. The marble has been finely carved and is used to great effect.

This small church is another church in Venice where you need to pay entrance fee. Tourists are not satisfied but think about hundreds of churches in Venice and all cost for maintaining and restoration. When you are lucky to find open doors, enter. Atmosphere of...More

We didn't go in but the free walking tour stopped here. Nice to learn the story of the church making it a must stop for romantics!

This church is like a small, perfect jewel box. Among the churches of Venice this one stands out. Beautifully restored by Save Venice it is a place of peace and tranquility.

Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

Its quite a trek best to take a water taxi to the Rialto Bridge ask which way there and its about 15 minutes . It is down alleys so need to check if you are heading the right way. Well worth it though

Probably Rialto or Fondamente Nuove as good as any - it's about halfway between. But the easiest way to find it is from the Church of Ss Giovanni e Paolo; from the square in front of it, a bridge leads across the canal to... More
