This is a thriving shop with unique, beautiful, authentic Venetian costumes and accessories. You will find lots of things made in China and finished in Venice....But not at this shop....it is all made in Venice and is all beautiful. Will return for Carnival next year!

It was amazing. I am not a normally proportioned person and fitting me is usually a challenge. They were able to fit me into an attention grabbing authentic costume that made my Venice experience unforgettable! I felt like a celebrity with tourists taking pictures of me in my costume.

Right between St. Mary of the Friars and Scuolo Grande di San Rocco, there is both the workshop where they sell masks, and around the corner there is just a store. I went to both but the mask I wanted I found in the store, not the workshop. The woman that worked there was lovely and as we still had... More

10/10 would reccomend for authentic handmade, exquisite masks at good prices. Most range from €20-€45 but there are cheaper and more lavish masks available. Cannot reccomend enough!

Just go here if you want to buy beautiful, hand painted, wonderfully crafted masks. We loved the owner (he has two shops) and whilst we visited many shops this was the one we returned to and purchased from. He was so lovely he even shut his shop and took us to a nearby restaurant he recommended so that we didn't... More

While visiting Venice, I made it a priority that I wanted to procure an authentic Venetian mask before leaving. After looking up several reviews, Atelier Marega was the one store that consistently appeared to receive high marks accolades. They were well deserved. The store was beautiful and exquisite, and the staff were very helpful and attentive. The mask I wanted... More

A beautiful store, packed with carnival masks and costumes made by hand, plus a workshop at the back so you get a glimpse into the process. Nicest shop we have found on our visit.

There are so many shops selling masks in Venice. Some are just ordinary souvenir shops (and they sell cheap masks) and some are speciality shops. Atelier Marega belongs to the latter category. The shops is pretty big. There are a lot of masks for you to choose from. The owner's very helpful in telling us which one we should get... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
