It's round and beautifully designed and kept up. There was a mass going on which added to effect - the priest had a good voice and the organ music for the sacrament was interesting. The restoration of the Tintoretto 'Wedding at Cana' was well explained and showed its interesting first location. This church has a wow factor which I missed... More

Directly opposite Piazza San Marco where Canale Grande enters into the lagoon Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute dominates the scenario. This architecure cown-jewel of the 17th was designed by Longhena and constructed to honor Vergin Mary remembering the plague of 1630 and Venetians still remember the end of the Black Death. Standing proudly at one of Venice`s most aesthetical... More

I arrived at the train station early and ended up stopping inside this church. It has a peaceful interior with a beautiful altar. Worth a quick look if passing by.

We enjoyed visiting this church and walking around it on the waterfront and admiring the views to San Marco and Lido. We visited in the morning,it was a lovely quiet place to light a votive candle.

Stunning building, moved me to tears and I know nothing of art. I'd recommend seeing it from the other side of the canal.

This church looks really great from a distance, and generally from the outside. The interior is just so-so, but still worth a look if you're in the area. Great views from here across towards San Marco.

This is such a beautiful building. It is easy to visit without a crowd when we were there. I would highly recommend stopping to visit. I would think this would be a great place to visit in the summer as we were there in the winter and it was colder inside the church than outside, so maybe a place to... More

Although it is not very big, this basilica has an impressive dome surrounded by many small chapels, each having an amazing masterpiece. Entrance is free, but you have to check the opening hours. It can be reached on foot (highly recommended) or using traghetto (2 euro fee). The time spent here helped us to better understand the Venetian art.
