give this one a miss, a real con. can't take your large bag inside and no where to leave it, once inside it extra cost for this room and that room. why did the church spend so much money on itself.

Althought the queue to entrance is terrible for sure it worth to wait beacuse Byzantine domes and 8500 sq metres of luminous mosaics, Venice's basilica is an unforgettable sight.

Did not manage to visit inside, as the queue was at least 2 hours on a boiling day. Try to get there early.

Fantastic. My favourite Catholic church of all time, in a class of its own. Forget St. Peter's in Rome, this is more breathtaking and awe-inspiring. A glorious gilded subdued masterpiece. Worth every minute of the wait.

Wear something that cover your shoulders or you can buy a scarf for a euro. The mosaic work is absolutely extraordinary. 5 euro entrance fee is well worth it. Only allow photos outside. I'm not a good photographer. Photos don't do the views justice!

It's not the most beautiful church we've seen in Italy. Yet it's so well known that you might as well see it. If you want to go to mass here, use the north entry and be prepared to get hassled if you look American. The...More

Yes, a small bag/purse is allowed but bag packs have to be checked at the cloak room for free. The instructions are displayed at the entry, u can't miss it.
