We didn't go in looks impressive from the outside but I would imagine like any other Basilica. Charged on entry like everything in Venice.... big queues so book skip the line or arrive early

Wonderful basilica that gets very busy so get there early. They are very strict in terms of dress and noise so be respectful and you will have no problem.

Hi, have heard that the lights come on for a period for a certain time of the day. Does anyone know when the lights come on (eg mosaics lit up). Any assistance would be appreciated

Yes, a small bag/purse is allowed but bag packs have to be checked at the cloak room for free. The instructions are displayed at the entry, u can't miss it.
