One of many beautiful church’s on Venice main island, a stunning place that is very old but is a real pleasure on the eye. This is one church that allows photos so I have added a couple for you to see. Not far from San...More

This church has an elaborate façade as well as an ornate main altar on the interior. One could spend quite a bit of time admiring not only all the intricate carvings on the exterior, but also the numerous artistic features inside---unfortunately, I could not find...More

Once again en-route from the Accademia Bridge towards St Marks Square we had tripped across the Santa Maria del Giglio, and then some time later found this stunning beauty as well, lovely architecture and designs on the front, once again easily missed unless you wander...More

On our route towards St. Mark’s Square so we passed this Church every day. Very ornate both on the outside and inside, as these big churches tend to be.

This delightful church was virtually opposite my Hotel, in the heart of the posh shops, so when appropriate, I wandered in. Lovely to visit a modest church for a change instead of the grand ones on everyones tourist map

As you make your way through the San Marco sestiere on the way to St. Mark's Square, nestled among the high-end shops is this beautiful Baroque church. In the rear gallery sits a gorgeous Baroque organ whose ornate casework is a marvelous work of art.

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one

clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops,
orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand

campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower,
plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
