Neighbourhood: San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is a beautiful square in Venice. At it is not on the main path of tourists, it is not so crowded, but it is also very livly and popular. It is a good choice, if you want to enjoy Venice.

This is a lovely square next to the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and the nearby canal.
There are a few eateries here.

This large square, located at Basilica di S. M. G. dei Frari, is completely overshadowed by the Basilica. There are numerous residences and restaurants located in this campo. In front of the Basilica is just a large open area with an eponymous bridge.

While walking through the paths and alleyways of Venice we stopped at a cafe and realized we were across from this beautiful church. We were able to step inside and catch a look at it even though they were charging for full visitations. It was only a couple euros but we didn't feel like spending it at that time and popped in-and-out quickly.

This Square is dominated by the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, otherwise its fairly nondescript. The guide stated that the other buildings housed apartments

After lunch somewhere in San Polo, we walked along Fondamenta dei Frari, over a small bridge and into the campo.
For years we have been hoping to find Santa Maris Dei Frari, and there it was right in front of us, dominating the square.
Other than the church and water well, the buildings are rather plain and in-interesting.
