Murano, Burano and Torcello Half-Day Sightseeing Tour

5,015 reviews
This sightseeing tour allows you to see three islands in the Venetian Lagoon in half a day. Visitors often visit Murano—well-known for its glass-blowing factory—but fewer make it to Burano and Torcello, with their lace-making shops and ornate palaces and churches. The tour also offers two departure times a day, making it easier to fit into your schedule.

Small museum with a huge amount packed in. Some of the rooms looked like they were just created while others looked like nothing has changed in many years. The newer ones were well designed and displayed items very well. The older looking rooms often felt like there was an overload of material to look at. Many of the older animals on display did not look like they aged well, however, considering how old they likely are, this is understandable. Many of the older displays were not geared well towards younger children.

Loved the exhibitions, very interesting and good to look at. However no English writing (sorry if this seems arrogant) but worth getting an audio guide if you do not speak Italian.

Fantastic museum and I really enjoyed seeing the dinosaur and other fossils. That being saus5, I did find some of the exhibits disturbing, such as the skinned gorilla who appeared to be crying in pain. There was also a shrunken head and something that looked like a 'mermonkey'. Definitely worth a look, but be prepared.

We had booked a visit with TripAdvisor (Viator) for this museum, but unfortunately the museum didn’t have our booking information. They called Venezia Unica: same thing, they didn’t have even my name. Fortunately the people at the museum were incredibly helpful and gave us tickets for the museum. We could visit everything and my children enjoyed it a lot - even if the youngest was sometimes a bit scarred! Go for it, but go directly to the museum - don’t book with Viator.

I hadn’t planned on visiting until a friend mentioned it to me, so I decided to drop by on the last day. Stunning collection, detailed exhibits. So much more than I was expecting going in. Highly recommend. :)
