We should have known well enough - in summer this is a place where you benefit from booking on the internet before you arrive (which we usually do). Getting there towards the end of the day meant that even though it was still open, there were no more tickets available that day. (The upside of this was we missed the... More

Well worth the visit. The story behind the chapel is just as interesting as the artwork, as well as all the details on the efforts to preserve it.

Even if you are not into the arts, Scrovegni chapel is still a must see when you visit Padua. The techniques used in some of the frescoes are challenging for today's artists!

This is a very impressive fresco. It is well worth the time. A reservation is required. The Chapel is better if you review the Rick Steves comments before you go.

Without question the best site of Padua, and certainly on eof the best sites in Italy. Showcasing the frescoes by the old master Giotto, the chapel is a testament to the genius of Italian Renaissance artists. The paintings depicted are phenomenal, and the experience includes a helpful video (with English subtitles) describing some background and the significance of the site.... More

This place is so magical, it picks you up and mesmerizes you. You want to know the Bible by heart, so that all the scenes become part of a bigger story.

Have you ever been inside a painting? That's the Scrovegni. Not only that, it's a picture by one of the greatest artists who ever painted and it's literally the beginning of the Renaissance. As you stand in awe before each register you see over and over again things that have not been painted since the collapse of classical civilization and... More

Getting to see the Scrovegni Chapel was a stunning experience. The quality and the emotional power of the collection of Giotto frescos is such that it is one of those experiences that will stay with you forever. Book in advance and be prepared for the fact that you will only have a limited time in the Chapel. On the positive... More

A wonderful original chapel in the heart of Padova. We were very lucky to enter it without ticket or an enormous queue. It has inside beautiful paintings of Giotto. Do not miss it!

This not to be missed experience is just a 10 -15 minute walk from the station. In December no queues or wait. It's a timed event so you can't linger. The staff don't speak English so use your basic Italian and it's ok. Really worth the effort to see something so magnificent
