Prato della Valle is a great park: multiple fountains, sculpture, flowerbeds and paths make it an ideal place for a good walk and to get a good 360-degree view of one aspect of historic Padua. On week-ends, this is the place for flea-markets and farmers'...More

This large mostly pedestrian square with lots of sculptures, artificial canal, beautiful buildings, to my mind, is one of the best Squares not only in Italy, but in Europe. Once again, knowing its history would help to appreciate it even more.

Parked at the velodrome, excellent location for visiting south Padua. The Prato della Valle, is exceptional (especially as the weather was great), especially as there were hardly any other visitors, (could be the time of year, may just have been lucky). Well worth a visit.
