if you are a fan of middle centuries history this place is for you. The place is refurbished but looks very real. That's how nobility used to live in 15 century. A lot of details... Wooden panels on the walls, wooden floors, furniture, the stove......More

A real little gem this tiny castle with lots of late medieval artifacts. Just a stone throw from the pedestrian area. Google places it all wrong. Don’t miss the music instruments in the virgin chamber ! If you have a MuseoCard for Südtirol it’s included.

Small but really delightful little castle in the centre of Merano's old town. There is even a British connection, as it was a home for the Scots princess Eleanor who married a 15th century Archduke of Tyrol.

hidden behind the Merano town hall, very close to the busy Lauben is this small castle that is in fact a big house, the residence of the Principe when in town. It gives a splendid view on the way people (high society !) lived in...More

Built in the 14th century and renovated in the 1870's, the building now houses exhibits from medieval life. There are many wooden sculptures, old musical instruments and reproduction furniture inside. It is worth a short visit.

The castle has not been renovated, which you can tell by the floor boards that show 600 years of wear, and the furnishings. You can easily imagine yourself back in the 15th century. Small, but well worth the time and 5 euros.

It's really small, when you think about a castle you imagine a big building, but this isn't. Located in the downtown, you can visit it in half an hour, and if you don't have the Meran Free Card, you have to pay only 2 Euro....More

Castdllo Principesco, being small and cute, fits perfectly in the town of Merano. It was refurbished in the 19th century, furnished with period furniture and paintings, to give a good idea of what life here must have been like in the 1500s. The frescos on...More
