Wonderful historical area, tiny lanes to explore wonderful shops bars, not a place to miss. Some restaurants / bars have outside seating thus you can mix with the local friendly people.

I absolutely adore merano. Have been here several times. With a young child. Shops are good and plenty of them. Some very good places to eat. Lovely cobbled streets. Friendly people. We went for a walk by the river. So beautiful.

Very nice old town with a touch of Habsburg flair. Passerpromenade and Tappeinerweg are 2 nice walking paths in and above Meran.

We stopped off in Merano on our road trip to Val Gardena. Beautiful old cobbled streets with lots of nice shops and gelato! Sweeping views of the river and Terme Spa are also worth a stroll. Will be back for a longer stay.

Don't miss walking the old town and getting lost in its little streets with arcades. Start from the Kurhaus and walk to the cathedral and come back via different route.
