Nice town to visit. But small and the shops were closed in the weekend. Having said that saw few historical churches and nice architecture buildings.

The first thing that you notice is the Germanic background. This was part of Austria until 1918. The first language is German with very little Italian. Lovely shops many of which are not part of national chains. The thermal baths are worth visiting.

This a lovely mountain spa town! it is comparable to Annecy in France/ Baden-baden in Germany. It is a lovely town, surrounded by scenic mountains, lots of nice shops, lots of place to eat!!! Brilliant, and an amazing SPA right in town!

We didn’t set out on a specific route we just wandered around the historic centre. There’s lots to see and plenty of hidden gems. I’d recommend that anyone who visits Merano takes some time out to wander around.

Merano centro storico is nice with its old streets and arcades where are shop stores, bar, restaurants, churches and more.

Take a stroll along both sides of the river and then into the old centre of Merano. Some lovely buildings give this place an Austrian feel, the old church is particularly interesting and the setting surrounded by mountains is wonderful.

It is the main artery of Merano that gives an inspiration to visit the place and explore the so many things it offers.
