One of our favourite places in Europe. Lake Orta is just beautiful. Great water taxi services run regularly from San Guilio.

Nice and quiet place. Less touristic than the bigger lakes (Magiore, Garda) and lots of things to visit. Not to far from Torino or the Aosta valley.

We went for a swim in this lake and it was so warm! We found a public beach near camp Allegro, there were a few other people but it was still nice. Nice view of the island on the lake when swimming.

This place is very special. the old town, the mountains, the crystal clear, clean water. We just love swimming, eating and being here.

Great little lake, had a wonderful meal in the old town, went to visit Francis Sanctuary which was very interesting, and amazing views of Lake Orta. Can't wait to go back.

Being smaller than the Maggiore & Como means this Lake is more intimate than its more famous cousins Beautiful surrounds & medieval village of Orta San Giulio is great to wander around although does get it share of tourists

Most US tourists go to Como. Don't be like all the other lemmings...try Orta. Or don't and leave the beauty to the most fortunate traveler.
