Atmospheric church
Sep. 2019
Asti's second largest church is dedicated to Saint Secondo, supposedly decapitated by the Emperor Hadrian on this very spot. Very atmospheric with some fine frescoes. At the moment there's also a little display of all the flags from the recent Palio. Unfortunately the crypt was shut of when we visited, but that might also be worth a visit.

This was an interesting church in the main Square. Don't miss the mosaics on the floor near the altar.

Beautiful Church in City Center
Feb. 2019 • Solo
Was walking around taking some pictures when I noticed the church. Thought I would take some pictures inside as well and upon entering mass was being held. So I stood for mass, and prayed. God probably brought me there that moment because I needed it. Inside it’s beautifully decorated with the cross high in the middle. A very pleasant church & I’m glad I went in. Make sure to pay a visit when you’re here, day or night. And maybe say a prayer. God Bless!

Second largest church in town
Feb. 2018 • Friends
Built in the 13th century in the Gothic style it had a nice interior with some medieval frescoes still remaining and a nice chapel showcasing the flags of all the participants to the Palio of Asti.

Nice Cripta
Oct. 2018 • Family
Nice church dedicated to the Saint of the City.
It is worth visiting the hidden basement (Cripta) where the remains of the Saint are preserved.

A beautiful atmospheric church
Mar. 2017
There is great beauty in the old brick of this romanesque church. There are very interesting paintings, but do not miss the fresco of Jerusalem at the base of the bell tower with the wonderful statue of the weeping Mary. The crypt where San Secundo was martyred is definitely to be seen. There are remains of early wall paintings on the south side. This church was the highlight of out visit.

Huge cathedral. It was very interesting to walk around and view all the nooks and crannies of this church. We would like to return again and stay longer.

Patron Saint of Asti lies here in the crypt!
Oct. 2016 • Couples
This Romanesque-Gothic church has an austere facade, and its many additions are obvious. The Crypt where San Secondo was martyred and buried is not to be missed. The crypt dates back to the 6th century with its columns and capitals dating from this time and others added. The silver reliquary containing the remains of the saint is quite remarkable. Walking around the nave of this church there is much to be seen, and a guide written in English was a great help.
