Thres Skycrapers.
Jul. 2019
Pavia used to be the city with more than 150 Medieval Towers, but nowadays only a dozen can be admired.
The three towers of Piazza Leonardo da Vinci from the 12th century have remained intact behind the distinguished courtyards of the University, the two of Via Luigi Porta and that of Piazza Borromeo.
The clock tower is very characteristic, about 40 meters high and about 6 meters wide at the base.
Famous for the disastrous event is the Civic Tower, of the eleventh century, which collapsed in1989, causing the death of some people.

Twin medieval towers
May 2019 • Family
It is impressive to see this kind of building that was built so long ago. There they are, two twin towers from medieval times, overseeing the surroundings!

Impressive medieval heritage
Mar. 2018 • Couples
We passed by three very interesting medieval towers, one next to the other, now only among six remaining in a city which once hold around one hundred.

The parrots are entertaining
Sep. 2018 • Couples
The towers are beautiful, and so are the colorful parrots that nest in them part of the year. We found a bench and watched them for several minutes.

Saruman is not dead...

Those towers are something amazing. I hate to know, that they had built more of them but they didn't survive to our own time.

Loved them
Jul. 2017 • Family
We sat and drew them and loved the experience. They are simple towers and you do get a crick in your neck from looking up, but, have an ice cream from the many excellent gelaterie.

Cool towers
Jan. 2017 • Business
We were exploring the back streets of Pavia, looking for the university, when we came across the towers. They look great and each one is a different design. They symbolise power. Well worth a look.

''Medioeval towers”
Oct. 2015 • Business
This is one of the towers which Pavia is known with, around Pavia you will see many of them but in different height, it is a symbol of power, the powerful/wealthy family is the one who has a high tower.

The parrots' medioeval towers
Oct. 2015 • Friends
These towers were built in the middle ages to represent the strenght of the town. There was virtually nothing in them but they did stand out! Now they still stand, and they are in pretty good shape. I was amazed at the number of green parrots inhabiting these towers, providing that extra twist to the whole experience. No doubt a must see in Pavia. Don't miss them.
