Neighbourhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

We came here as the place looked quite nice and was in a good location near the castle. We went in and were immediately questioned as to why we had walked in the door by the old, decrepit owner.

He was extremely rude and seemed annoyed that we wanted to have 2 minutes to decide what we wanted to eat. We ordered soup and received something that resembled mashed potatoes with a green colour, disgusting! We managed to force this down.

The punchline at the end of this joke is that the horrendous soup slush cost 10 euros! We also were charged the “service charge” - they must have forgotten to include actual service! No one asked us how the meal was, we just decided to get up and get out of there as soon as possible.

My advice would be to go anywhere else, rather than this run down establishment, unless you enjoy paying exorbitant prices for substandard food and service.

Wonderful outside dining with the Basilica di San Simpliciano looming above you. Relaxing, peaceful atmosphere away from the bustle of the Milan tourist crowds. Very helpful, friendly staff. Very good cooking (like home cooking) with simple and very tasty dishes. We enjoyed the chicken curry with basmati rice. Excellent affogato dessert.

What a lovely place to spend lunch or coffee time. Tiny tables suggest an intimate setting for booklovers or people who like a place where they can write or relax. Surrounded by a beautiful wide choice of quality Italian Fiction...

It is in the square leading up to the Basilica of San Simplicians and is quite a pleasant place for coffee with an external area and seats inside which is also a reading library.Service was good and the coffee fine.
