The area
Neighbourhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Waiters are polite and service is ok but the food is horrible. Carbonara traditionally comes with a cream sauce and some bacon or ham. The plate served to me was just boiled spaghetti with a touch of butter and a few slivers of ham. All I could taste was boiled pasta. At €8 it is not a tragedy but there are better ways to waste money...

This is probably the best and most original street in Milan. Starting from La Scala it leads all the way out from the Old city to the Porta Nuova.
Numerous shops and restaurants around.

True Milanese feel.

From Piazza Cavour to Piazza della Scala, this "Via Manzoni" is one of the most elegant and fashionable street of Milan.
Pleasant walk through it admiring such beautiful buildings and important palaces. Not the most important attraction but it's a nice 15 minutes walk anyway.

One of the nice streets in Milan, which was quite quiet. There are many shops on it and it reaches La Scala.

We took a stroll at this upmarket street from Piazza della Scala.

Part of this street is where you will find Milan's upscale fashion district. It also has a few fancy hotels and restaurants. It is also the place where Giuseppe Verdi’s died in 1901.

Via Manzoni is a bustling and fashionable street that leads from the Piazza della Scala towards Piazza Cavour. You can find on your way the Museum Poldi Pezzoli. Street full of restaurants, bars and cafes, great for an evening walk.

After our visit to the Museo Poldi Pezzoli on via Manzoni, we took a walk along the street for some serious window shopping and to take in the atmosphere of this typically Milanese street. Mostly fashion or interior decoration boutiques of course. The metro station Montenapoleone is in the middle of the via Manzoni so most convenient station to get there.
