The area

Neighbourhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Quadrilatero d'oro 'or golden quadrangle, a neighborhood where all the major fashion houses such as Armani, Hugo Boss, Versace, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, etc. have a branch or their own flag store.

Today it is apparently especially busy at Louis Vuitton, where they are lining up outside. Maybe they do a promotion and you get two handbags for the price of one? To be honest, this neighborhood is a bit disappointing, because we expected more bling bling and glamor here. In fact, it is a poorly maintained street with little appearance. Then we found the "rich neighborhood" in Rome much more impressive.

it's the square made by four streets, via spiga, via montenapoleone, via manzoni and via san't andrea. It's where all the most expensive shops of Milan are. It's where Dolce and Gabbana have around 100 shops including barbers and cafes. All major designers, italian and non italian, have a shop in this area, and most of these shops include some brilliant design and, most likely, a restaurant, bar or a cafe inside. The problem is that you won't have enough money to pay for drinks or food in them, let along clothes or shoes. Price of a coffee start at 6 € and go up from there, so just pace around the area and look at the windows, drool over the beautiful 500 € shoes and 2000 € bags and clothes you see, and then feel jealous about 14 year old girls coming out of shops with gucci bags. Then go shopping somewhere else, there's plenty of shops in Milan cheaper than these; but, truth said, I wish I could have shopped in these ones, everything looked sooo beautiful.

If you are not going to spend $$$$ for designers clothes- better spend your time somewhere else. Fancy shops with security. Nothing to see and nothing to do. I felt to be too poor to enter this shops😅. Have no idea what are doing there tourists, who are not able to buy luxurious goods.

This is the area where all the big designers have a flag ship boutique. Unfortunately the windows and the displays from the outside were very small and we just wanted to do some window shopping and have a nice stroll. The side walks are narrow and traffic is allowed in all the streets. Not a nice coffee place in the area to get a rest. If you want to see glamorous fashion boutiques : go to Paris.

Although mainly for window shopping, at least for regular people, this area of Milan is not to be missed, since it's one of the city's trademarks.

Exceptional. I was there before Christmas so there was loads of lights and decorations. Atmosphere was magical. Speaking more mundane though, there are loads of shops and boutiques of world famous designers so it is surely a must-see for all those who are interested in latest trends!
