The Palazzo Morandi gave us the best introduction to Milan, its history and culture. We are not 'first-timers' in Milan so we already had a sense of its place in history but this museum is a real gem in presenting the story of the city, its literature (Manzoni), art, and importantly its role in the creation of the unified state of Italy in the mid 19th century. VERY highly recommended for those who want to learn more and see rooms furnished in the style of various eras and fashions. Fascinating.

Tucked away on a fashionable street rests Palazzo Morando. It is a good value to get the Milan house pass to save you some money, a great value if you plan to see many. The house is a classic beauty.

I went to this museum because I wanted to see the fashion exhibit, and while it was a perfectly nice fashion exhibit, it is not as good as the Armani museum or any of several museums in Florence such as the Pitti fashion collection or Roberto Capuchi. However, I'd still recommend a visit; the ground floor is a modern exhibition space and when I went it was dedicated to Milan in the first world war. All in Italian but lots of photos, posters etc so I got the point even though my Italian is not very good. The upper floors are dedicated to the fashion exhibit but also a vast collection of paintings from the risorgimento period, in period furnished rooms, many of them specifically relating to Milan. Almost no one else there which is my favorite kind of museum. Palazzo Morando is in the heart of Milan's ritziest fashion shopping district so if you get tired of walking around watching the beautiful people spending money you can pop in this museum and enjoy the paintings for a while. It was also dirt cheap and while the air conditioning is spotty and there's no cafe, there is a toilet.

I really enjoyed this aristocratic palace. Both the architecture and collections are interesting and unique. i had a aha moment in front of Garibaldi's red shirt and poncho, fantastic! When I visited they had the Manolo Blahnik show on in the galleries. Amazing shoes with crazy styles, great fun - worth a visit!

We went to see the current exposition today and were thrilled by it.
A display of the 2 most important designers living today. A demonstration of a hotel, public and private with some of the most beautiful furnishings of contemporary marks. A MUST!

I was recommended to visit this museum by a resident of Milan. It was not easy to find this gem, eventhough I had the city map in my hands. I had many people showing me the way to this place, including 2 policemen. But the museum is worth the search and effort. It speaks the historical part of MIlan, through the paintings, furniture and costumes exhibited. I took about 20 minutes to walk to this museum from Duomo.

Don't know whether the emotions emerging from visiting the exhibition "La Milano degli anni Sessanta" (Milan in the sixties) is the same for everyone or is highly touching for native of this city only. The fact is that visitors are projected in a world that recals people's youth, in another dimension and spirit. Go there and let you be transported in a past innocent dream.

One of Milanos Palazzo’s in the city centre is worth a visit. Cheep fee. And now an excellent special exhibition with nice female dresses. The palace itself contains a beautiful collection of paintings. Many very interesting paintings from the period where Italy became one nation. The palace is in authentic condition with furnitures and rooms from different eras. Please note they take a lunch pause at 1300 and open again a hour later.

The elegant 18th century palace is for the last few years the fashion history venue, hosting the collections and preparing special exhibitions in the area of fashion and art. This is a very important part of the city’s history and its future that deserves a unique approach presented by the museum. The palace itself is beautifully decorated and furnished with some precious antique objects, sculptures and paintings.

This palace is itself enough reason to be seen, but it also has some very nice paintings and pieces of furniture. Usually it houses costumes, but when we visited it, it was hosting a temporary exhibition of Manolo Blahnik art of shoes, It is absolutely something that cannot be seen elsewhere.
