Brilliant baroque Jesuit church built in 1569, with Pellegrino Tibaldi as architect. Tibaldi studied under Michelangelo who was busy at that time with the Sistine Chapel. In many aspects San Fedele (Saint Fidelis) is similar to the Gesu in Rome. The outside is a simple...More

The Jesuit church was built in the 16th century, mostly by architect Pellegrino Tibaldi. It is a modest and harmonious building designed in typical Catholic Counter-Reformation style. Simple and elegant building located at the nice and equally elegant square.

Chiesa di San Fedele is one of the smaller churches, and compared to the Duomo it would be just a little chapel! Nevertheless it's a lovely building, both outside as well as in the interior, and it's worth having a look in if you are...More

An older more staid Milan church in a great location near the Duomo. About 40 years old and has undergone some modern upgrades/preservation efforts. The Milanese call this a typical “counter-reformation” church. I liked it for its cool setting, its austerity compared to other Milan...More

This is a very tranquil church, located in San Fedele square. The square itself is tucked away behind the Scala square, thus it enjoy a more quiet and serene atmosphere. There's a lovely statue of Alessandro Manzoni in the middle of the square.

Located in the tranquil San Fedele square, this is a decent little church. While architecturally speaking, the church is lovely, what makes it rather unique are the lovely paintings inside the church and the intricate wooden carvings. The acoustics of the church is absolutely perfect.

During my recent trip to Milano I had the pleasure of visiting the church of San Fedele. The square facing the church is simply beautiful and the perfect spot if you need to get away from the crowded 'Galleria.' The façade of the church made...More
