We walked around the gardens and took in the view out over the lake and saw a sea plane come in to land, despite the weather being a little gloomy it was still a beautiful site. We didn't get to go inside the Villa as it was closed but what we saw of the grounds was enough to warrant a visit.

Obviously not worth coming to Como just to visit here but as part of a larger tour it should be part of your itinary.

We visited during our recent stay in Como. The Villa is in a beautiful position on the lake side. It was free to enter the gardens and the Villa itself. The interior is lovely but it’s a shame that it’s empty of all furniture.

We enjoyed our visit here as we were staying close by but wouldn’t go out of our way to visit. Toilets available in separate block.

Recommended if in the area.

Agree with previous review - everything was shut up and barricaded off. The gardens were mostly gravel paths with trees and shrubs in small beds - very disappointing.
However, the walk round the lake from Como town, on a well designed path was lovely and gave great views of the lake, the mountains and the town.

The lower level of the villa is free to tour. The outside grounds and lower level are very beautiful. Staff is very nice.

A handsome neoclassical building with a nicely-laid out garden running down to the lake. There are also some impressive specimen trees in the smallish gardens. We were surprised to be allowed into the villa on the day we visited and even more surprised that it was free! While there's no furniture the empty rooms are still impressive with some fine decrations and chandaliers. Not what you'd call a 'big ticket' item but if you're staying in Como it's worth a visit. There's easy parking on the access road.

We were walking along the water side of Lake Como, and we stopped at this Villa Olmo..it’s very impressive from the outside, pale yellow color, with large gardens around it ..good place to take pictures. We entered the villa, it’s $5 euro for seniors and $7euro for entrance fee. This place was acquired by the city in 1925, now organized conferences, events, and art exhibitions are using it, The rooms are divided in salons which have different themes, some are abstract others modern art. The rooms are sombre , very little light is displayed. The paints on ceiling and walls were nice but I did not know what they were about.. What I found disappointing was the lack of information on the different displays and many of them were only in Italian. I asked one of ladies working there to give me some history on this place and she stated , she didn’t know much since she just started working there. Very disappointed, it should be free!

The villa was a grand place in it’s day but now empty is seems like it needs attention and some work. The mixed media of paint and sculpture on the walls was incredible.

We passed through on a few days running and, like the locals, pitched up with a picnic lunch to enjoy in the shade

We saw this Villa from our boat ride on Lake Como. It was a light yellow color and the perfect example of Italian classical style. We decided to walk to it from our apartment on Viale Fratelli Rosselli via the lake waterfront that took about 20-25 minutes. The villa was named after an elm planted in the middle of the garden, which unfortunately is no longer there. It was acquired by the city of Como in 1925 and is now used for organized conferences, events, and art exhibitions. It did not cost anything for us to tour the villa, which was good because there was nothing to really see inside…all the rooms were empty except for a room with chairs and a stage. There were a lot of people lounging on the lawn in front of the Villa near the waterfront.
