Took time after lunch to explore the old central area of Como, this was one of two churches in the central pedestrian area and well worth a look, 1 euro donation entry fee. Good information inside in various languages.

While you are there in Como, you must go to the Duomo, it was well worth the time spent there. It's the center of the city and easily accessible.

When travelling, we always try to visit a local church, and when in Como it had to be the dome! Much more "clean" and not so overwhelming as the Milan dome! We liked it very much!

The Stain glass paintings are a killer. A Must visit for art lovers. Also quite tranquil and in tandem with Lake Como's peaceful atmosphere.

This has to be one of the best cathedrals in Italy - and we have seen quite a few. Be sure to seek out the framed tapestries from the 1100s hanging in the centre. Absolutely full of history, art and ambience. Great numbered information systems...More

Absolutely stunning from the outside, with the help of a knowledgeable guide who can describe the many changes made during the centuries caused by events political and otherwise,it becomes history made visible. Personally I found the interior rather a let-down but that's just my impression.

This church was pretty nice and much bigger than I thought it would be. There was a nice gentleman there who answered questions I had.

The tourist entrance is used when the Duomo is in Service so non-participating guests will not interrupt the religious program.
