A pleasant climb above the citta alta...gorgeous views of the lower city of Bergamo as well as the hillside. Luscious plantings and beautiful smells. Quiet and peaceful and very few people.

We went there on a Sunday morning, and it was delightful. Apart from the botanical aspect, the views are gorgeous, and being in the morning, it was quiet. There are nooks and corners and seating areas, and it must be lovely to live near there...More

A short walk from Colle Aperto, you will find the botanical gardens. It's very up-and-down, with lots of steps so not really recommended for the elderly or disabled but the views are nice and the plants are very well labelled in English and Italian. Plus...More

You have to clinb a little from where the bus or funicular leaves you (opposite direction from the Cathedral) but is very green and the view from the top is spectacular. The access is free.

A lovely little garden perched on the hillside just outside the walls. You'll need to like gardens but some curious plants and quiet places to sit and enjoy the view

This small and not particularly pretty garden is worth a short detour, mainly for the views. There was little to excite botanically.

It's quite a climb. Check the opening hours because outside the season the garden is closed in the middle of the day, and you have to walk longer to get to the main entrance. It's free of charge, really tiny, but the views are great....More
