So glad we chose to stay here. It is right in the middle of Portofino and Rapallo. Easy bus to Portofino or Rapallo. Easy to get to train. Walk along the waterfront at night and stop for Gellato. Nice size public beach.
This picturesque town is situated on the bay before Portofino and is a much better choice to stay.

There is no direct train from SML to Rome so you will need to check the train timetables. Travel time will also depend on whether you are travelling on a fast train or normal intercity train. I suggest you look up Italiarail website for train times, travel time and fares. I booked all my train fares through Italiarail. And I was able to get connecting trains and arrive at my destination on time. But you will need to plan ahead and also allow extra time if you have to catch a flight as sometimes trains are delayed.
