Well worth the hike to the top. Panoramic views of the sea and Portifino. Beautiful gardens. Historic castle.

The cruise line had arranged a wine tasting at this beautiful venue as a shore excursion. The Italian chef made a pesto sauce as a cooking class which we all sampled. We were then treated to a multitude of Italian treats, kind of in a...More

Stretch your legs, climb the steps and be amazed at the view. Continue walking to the amazing bar at the end.

Do not miss the opportunity to visit this location while in Portofino. It involves climbing many steps, but if you are able this will be worth it! Take tons of pictures from there!

I was disappointed to find the walking stairs near the port closed as that was the best characteristic way to reach it, the place anyway is beautiful and has amazing views, but way to expensive around the area.

Well worth the walk, beautiful views over Portifino, no cars so a ten minute walk from Portifino. Lovely setting.

Personally, Portofino is over-rated although it has a picturesque waterfront. To see how the wealthy vacation take the Hotel Splendido shuttle from the Marina up the mountain for a fantastic view. Sit on the verrenda and sip an expensive adult beverage while taking in the...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Is there any transportation to the castle for those with walking difficulties. If not can the walk be done slowly with a cane in less than a couple of hours easy walking? Thanks

It took me about 30 minutes to climb. It's a solid hike. Not sure if there is any transportation available. The views are breathtaking.
What are the hours of operation for the Castle? Do we need to book tickets ahead of time?
