We visited Portofino by boat. As it was the model for DisneySea, the view of the harbor from the boat was very picturesque. The view overlooking the harbor from Castello Brown, about a 15-minute walk from the harbor, was also nice. You could really see the blue of the sea. The colorful buildings clinging to the cliffs were also unique, and I thought they were an important part of creating the beautiful scenery of this town. However, in this respect, Positano on the Amalfi Coast was more impressive. I think it's one of those views that you should see at least once.

heading to Portofino batter park your car outside the village in an orgenized park yard in payment. take a bus to Portofino. be patient. dont go there on Leberation day cause the buses r full. when u reach the village - its WOW. if u have force to go back by foot to where u parked the car - in Santa Margaritha - do it. walking along the sea shore is awsome

It is one of the most beautiful places in the region. The harbor that is hidden in a bay.
The yachts out there are huge: you almost think you've landed in an episode of Below Deck.
Furthermore, it is especially very touristy with large numbers of American tourists from their cruise ships. The village consists mainly of restaurants and gift shops.
Still absolutely worth seeing and visiting. It has a good atmosphere and vibe.

Beautiful harbor, busy and touristy. Portofino, without a doubt, one of the most popular and fashionable places among small towns in Italy. Now look out to the well-protected natural harbor - which has held substantial strategic value ever since the Romans first founded a town here. Since then, it has been appreciated by everyone from Napoleon to the Nazis.
Marina or Harbor is the place where you can take a touristic boat to go to the San Fruttuoso Abbey, Santa Margherita Ligure or other interesting places. Everything around is beautiful, but expensive: restaurants, food, hotels and even the air.

What a magnificent bay that I have dreamed of seeing for a very long time
A jewel of the Ligurian Riviera where tourists and stars mingle
We arrived by boat from Genoa because it is much easier to access than by road and especially for parking.
The prices are obviously not for me but admiring the landscape, having a small glass and ice cream remains within our reach
Very busy, you have to come early.

Very small marina located smack bang in front of Portofino buildings.
So small with only a few boats anchored in February in the marina it had no atmosphere for me, but maybe in summer it’s different.
Whole area is very small but beautiful to see and admire.

The small harbor of Portofino is very popular. Since there is practically no parking for cars in Portofino itself, I parked 1.5 km away for 6 euros per hour and walked there.
Boats with tourists, as well as luxury private ships, regularly moor in Portofino.

This marina is absolutely charming. You can walk on each side, a narrow deck with trendy boutiques and nice restaurants on the left (looking at the sea) and a wider walk on the right.
Maybe the best view on the marina can be achieved by walking up the path to Brown Castle and looking backward.

We've visited Portofino before. During Covid-19. And it was busy even then. Now of course it was even busier.
But it's a place worth visiting. The town itself is pretty compact and easy to walk. The main attraction and heart of it is of course the Marina with the boats, Yachts and all the colorful buildings. And the Castle sitting on top of the hill, overlooking the Marina.
There are some special events sometimes. Like this time. Wine, cheese, meat - all kinds of things to taste and buy right on the Marina.
Get a drink in a restaurant or Café to watch the world go by. Or bring some picnic with and sit down on one of the many benches around the Marina.
This time we left the car in Santa Margherita (where we stayed for a few days) and took the bus here and the ferry back. Way better and easier. Parking is limited and expensive. Better take the public transportations if possible.
Portofino is a pretty town. But don't miss out on Santa Margherita, Lerici or Camogli. All worth a trip.

We booked a boat trip to Portofino from Genoa.
The Italian riviera is a dream place and the trip along the coast is incredible.
The first encounter with the beautiful village is provided by the splendid Marina with its luxurious boats, colorful buildings, rich forests and turquoise waters.
A place to sit and enjoy the view.
