Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a busy port with many parts to it including cargo, small ships and cruise ships utilizing this vast port area. We also were fortunate to view part of the Italian fleet. The port was quite gorgeous at sunrise and sunset

To reach the center of La Spezia, and as a starting point for the boat tours, this is a very convenient parking spot

Large Promonade with plenty of boats. Port has four areas, cargo docks, Naval, fishing and private boats. A few restuarants and a pedestrian bridge. Very near town for all other amenities.

It is a port appreciated above all by tourists who come freely from the city to walk around (in fact, the positive reviews come from them or from shipowners in transit), causing undoubtedly confusion and annoyance for those who, like me, stay there continuously. The position of shipowners is very different as they see a continuous decline in the quality of services, from bathroom cleaning to the shipyard. Good secretarial and mooring service. The last negative news is the obligation for the owners' guests to pay for parking (tens of euros per day). The reasons for this are laughable and blatantly aimed at making money.

A family of three we came on business. We knew it was a major Italian Navy port, an important commercial port and the inspirational Porto Mirabello marina, but we had no prior detailed knowledge of the area so it was very much down to TripAdvisor to find restaurants and amenities. Problem solved. The ten best places to eat proved it's worth.
Our visit coincided with the beginning of a local traditional festival with a clever idea of walk-through containers on the esplanade displaying paintings and products. On Friday night there was a jazz concert by The Jazz Trio which was sensational and free!
Walking back towards our apartment at 23.30 through the center of the town there were hundreds of families many with children enjoying a night out. Some of the Fashion shops were still open. There was no evidence of drunken behaviour, no bouncers outside the bars, nothing to make you feel threatened.
Back to London the next night what a contrast! Drunken men with pint glasses blocking the pavement near the Tower of London, the constant need to keep your mobile out of sight, litter everywhere. This isn't just "holiday rose tinted spectacles" it's a fundamental problem. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to La Spezia and if you can take a rib ride out to the surrounding islands its sensational.

Strolled all over La Spezia during our stay and gravitated towards here to catch a view of the Italian Navy ! Mirabello is a berth for the big boys toys and there was several million $$ berthed on our visit ! Has some bars & cafes but appeared a bit more upmarket to cater for the well off ? Worth a stroll but that' about the limit.

We took a walk around this area and it was quite enjoyable. There is the water to see, the boats, and some cafes. The park is just up the road, so it would suit a family with kids. It is not a must-go place, but if you are in the area it might be worth a visit.

Small area of yachts and boats and cafes and bars - nice for an evening stroll or cooker day! There is a nice ice cream shop along the way.

Very nice and romantic spice marina especially at sunset. Possibility to walk quietly and enjoy the sea view in front and all the Gulf of Poets.

I would like to know where we can go to provision our charter sailboat. Names of grocery stores and how far from Porto Mirabello.
