Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful walk to the fort, from Righi. The signs show the route along the road, but you can also go through the park, as we discovered on the way back. Through the park you walk along the old walls on old roads. The walking route starts at the end of the park. The fort is closed but the walking route is beautiful, you see the old walls and forts around the city.

Such a shame that the fort is closed and the signposts are so minimal.

But the route is very beautiful and quite busy on a sunny Saturday.

I have now completed half of the walk but would like to do it all again.

We enjoyed the hike to the fort (about 1.5 hrs from the furnicular) but the signage to it is poor and it was closed. Attached is a photo to help you take the correct road when you turn left when you exit the furniculari.

Long trek up, not clearly signposted. Needed google maps. The fort is closed and looks like it has been for years sadly. You can only get into the fort by climbing over a wall (although probably trespassing!) and you can see the drawbridge and old moat, but not actually get further into the fort. Wouldn’t recommend the trek, as you can only see it from the outside.

The area is badly littered and the fort is closed off, so what could be a wonderful and historic site isn't worth the journey, unfortunately. Genova just needs to spend some money here.

To reach this old fortress you have to take Zecca-Righi cableway. From the end of the line you have to follow the signs,on a steep road.At the time of my visit it was closed to visitors.

Absolutely love the fort. Sketchy, old, abandoned and graffitid. Sometimes it’s open, sometimes it isn’t. If the first gate is locked, odds are the second one is too, but you can jump the fence to the left of the first wall and go up that way. Not too hard to get to, but you definitely need a map and to be on the lookout for… interesting people
