The outside of the cathedral is very austere and ordinary looking but the inside of the church is a dazzling display of baroque decoration. Well worth a visit even if you have been to a hundred churches.

This cathedral is likely not the grandest in Italy, but it was in keeping with the city. Authentic, friendly, easy to get around. Plus the inside was expected, fabulously ornate.More
