This promenade goes for a couple or so kilometres from the outskirts of Trieste to the Castello Miramar. The whole of it contains areas to sunbathe, places to get into the sea to swim and many spots to eat and drink. The heartbeat of Trieste.

Barcola is a long paved walkway leading up to Castello Miramare. This is truly the heart and lung of Trieste for the locals. Beautiful view over the sea, great sunset. No sandy beach but more like a rocky beach where you can get into the...More

Barcola is a strip of cement where the locals like to sunbathe with a big book in their hands. It's a very proletariat type of beach and gives you a sense of the locals. Nice.

It's a very nice place for a family walk, for pictures taking and having an ice-cream after lunch. Yachting club looks like from a movie. I recommend a trip in this park.

Unwind in the quaint seaside neighborhood of Barcola, where the saltwater breeze permeates the air, fishing boats line the harbor, and gelato stands line the shore. Quiet and charming, the area is ideal for long walks

We were so lucky to have our hotel along Barcola. We walked to the castle, watched many people and sunsets from our hotel balcony, and also along the promenade.Lovely.

Barcola is quite pleasant on a nice day for a long walk along the sea. While there are spots for sunbathing, its lacking a sand or pebble beach to enjoy so its limited as a typical afternoon at the sea. On the other hand, the...More
