Must purely because it is so old. The marble stone entrance know for it strength has an indentation. Can only get that with years (centuries) of threading across it. Inside the flooring if still the original Roman paving. Amazing place.

One of the best monument in Trieste and very wonderful site. Nice Panorama. Comfortable parking far away 1 minute from the church. No ticket to enter in the church

After visiting the castle, it is worthwhile paying a visit to the cathedral. The facade is unassuming but the interior is attractive. The history of the church is interesting and there are some stunning mosaics. Peaceful and tranquil

You can take an elevator from downtown near the Roman Amphitheatre up to the San Giusto Hill and then visit around there

On the first glance the Cathedral does not look like something very interesting. But if you observe it very carefully, especially from the inside you will see a beautiful mixtures of different styles and cultures( Roman, Christian, gothic...). Definitely recommended! The art junkies will especially enjoy.

The Cattedrale is situated st the top of Trieste but is easy to find after a short stroll up the city. Admission is free and there aren't any signs to provide information but that is part of its beauty. It's amazingly tranquil and worth the walk

St. Justus Church is the cathedral of Trieste and thus the seat of the bishop of the pertinent diocese. It’s an imposing edifice of romanesque style with a sober façade which must necessarily arouse the visitors’ interest. The gothic elements were added posteriously as a consequence of a partial destruction caused by an earthquake. The first religious building on the... More

A microcosm of Trieste history in one place, this church and it's history explain much of what is Trieste. From Roman times through the Fascist period, this church has stories to tell. The mosaics, old and new, are wonderful.

This 7th c. Romanesque-Gothic masterpiece is beautifully austere but it exudes mysticism. It contains some fine vaulted ceilings covered in golden mosaics. with figures of the Lady and saints. Other precious 12th c. paintings and works of art adorn the side altars as well. A must.
