Went to the museum as it also owns the 'Surgeon's house' and found most of what was in the house there, but it also has a nice art collection besides other historical objects and, during my visit, an interesting exhibition on Fellini's Casanova. The staff is very helpful and made sure I got the most out of my visit

The roman surgeon's house in Rimini is one of the most interesting roman excavations in Italy. The archaeologists have been careful to show the different layers of its history, so you can view the original floors and walls, see the burned window grating as a result of the fire which destroyed it, then view the more colourful mosaic floors of... This was a great place to wander round and was free on the day that I visited! It didn't look like much from the outside but was huge inside. There weren't many people there when I went so I felt a little bit like I was being watched by the staff but the museum was good and the reception staff... More

The museum and the nearby Surgeon's house (entrance to both on a single ticket) provide an interesting view of ancient Rimini. The discovery of the Surgeon's house with it's mosaics and the artifacts it revealed provided a very interesting visit.

Make sure you visit the ruins across the road-the surgeons home as the museum houses all the items that were discovered there.

This is a pretty good regional museum, with a lot of well-cataloged exhibits. Good explanation of archaeological digs in the area. Surprising Fellini originals.

The Roman surgeon's house would be a good reason enough to visit this museum. The mosaics are beautiful. It's not very big, but there are some extremely rare paintings like the Crucifix and Giudizio Universale by Giovanni da Rimini. Incredibly cheap.

It is worth visiting it when there are temporary exhibitions as they are free of charge and you may see good parts of the permanent one at the same time... A very good collection of mosaics is worth seing. And the courtyard is beautiful.
