Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you’re visiting Parma you can’t possibly miss this as it stands prominently in a square of his name.
You will often find people sitting on the steps of the monument hanging out with friends or having lunch. It's a good meeting point to have in case you get lost or separated from your party during your visit to Parma.
Very nicely done but I personally prefer the one in Bologna with Garibaldi sitting atop his horse.

Piazza Garibaldi is a busy focal point of the city. Take one or two of the side streets to find an interesting bar, restaurant or bistro. The best places to eat are not always in the most high profile locations. The Tourist Info Office is in the square.

Parma really does make the most of its connections with this man and there are many monuments and areas named after him.
This one was quite close to us so we used to enjoy going for a cold beer in the square the statue is in. Here you can observe the goings-on of the locals and it is fascinating to watch.
Always something happening and there is quite a lot of live music on during our stay. At other times, it was very peaceful and relaxing so well worth a visit.

The statue is in the main square and is a good meeting place. Be sure to explore the streets radiating out. You will find the cathedral, the old pharmacy, the baptistry if you go in one direction. In the other, there are restaurants and shops.

It's fine. It's a good meeting place. On a huge piazza with plenty of bike parking and lots of lively people.

Another statute in town, not very exciting as far as statutes go. It is situated in a great location on the main square. Hard to miss when on the way for a drink or food.

The Giuseppe Garibaldi Monument is situated in the middle of a large piazza facing the Palazzo del Governatore with a unique clock tower and amazing old sundial on the exterior wall, that’s pretty accurately, giving the date and the time of sunrise. There are many tourist restaurants and cafes around the edge of the Piazza. The Statue itself is named after the man who over 138 years ago unified modern-day Italy, there is unfortunately very little information in English about the artist who built this bronze statue in the piazza named after him. Garibaldi was a farmer, but is remembered today as a solider, who fought for freedom in many countries, before returning home and uniting Italy.
TIP: Check out the Clock on the wall of the Palazzo del Governatore he faces.

Even though Garibaldi passed away for 138 years ago, he has been and remains a central figure in Italian history. All nations respect heroes who fought for freedom, and Garibaldi appeared wherever the people rose up against the oppressors. He had a lion share in the unification of Italy. Garibaldi fought in Hungary, traveled to South America, was a farmer and captain, but his true calling was warfare. He has always combated on the right side, so his name and his memory still represent freedom all over the world. His bronze statue in Parma stands in the square named after him.
