Wow! One of the most frescoed churches I have seen. Beautiful inside and it is free! The baptistery and museum have a charge of 8 euros but I think the church was more spectacular. There is a chapel below for prayer as no seats are set up in the main hall.

The exterior of the Cathedral does not prepare you for the glorious sight inside. Every inch is covered with frescos and it is a breathtaking sight

Amazing frescos, put money on the machine in your right as you go in to light up the nave. Worth a visit, quiet, serene and well used cathedral. You get fined by the staff if you talk or eat! Good stuff

Armed with the free, excellent audio guide, we spent 2 wonderful hours in the Duomo and the Baptistry.

I can clearly now understand why this is considered one of the finest examples of its type in Italy. From the minute your eyes become accustomed to the low light your eyes are drawn from one magnificent feature to the next.

Pop inside this cathedral whilst in Parma and admire the artwork, especially the dome with Correggio's impressive 'Assumption of the Virgin'. Plenty to appreciate and free entrance. Costs to visit the octagonal pink baptistry nearby.

The dome in this church is impressive . It is painted by a painter called Correggio. It is an illusion made with great details. Pretty amazing stuff when you get it explained to you by someone who knows about it. I did not pay the entrance fee myself so I don't know how much it costs, and I rather not... More

The last time we were here it was shrouded in protective sheeting while they cleaned/renovated parts of it. Now it can be seen in it's full splendour. Magnificent outside, and inside, the detail and coverage of the painting is simply stunning. Even if you're not a great lover of churches you must go here, it's bound to impress you.

If you're into visiting religious buildings, I recommend combining a visit to the cathedral (no admission fee) with a visit to the baptistry ((admission fee) next door and the church (free) and monastery entrance for a donation)behind them. note the pink marble on the outside of the cathedral.
