EZ location and EZ walk. I did not feel the Magic god within me. The magic door opened 20 minutes late or dies time really matter here in this exact moment of time. There were several people before me, and they took turns kneeling directly in front and putting their hand on the glass to pray. Me, I just was... More

My niece is Catherine so I went to see the mummified remains of her namesake. The church is off the beaten track, the door to Saint Catherine is hidden on the left inside the empty church. There is a doorbell with something written in Italian. I pressed it. Nothing appeared to happen. Then the noise of locks unlocking and big... More

The church of St. Catherine seems to be a bot outside of the centre, but in fact it is 10-15 min easy walking distance. When we got there we had a feeling that we are back in medevial centuries entering beautiful church full of mistery. Look for signs on left side and go toward the chapel. The doors are closed. Have... More

The church is so pretty and calling into see St. Catherine is a must. A little bothering that they do not have information in English but you cannot have everything. Very quaint church and lovely to see her resting place.

The church Corpus Domini is beautiful. But the real best is the Cappella della Santa inside of it as it contains a mummy. It is only open Tue to Thu and Sat/Sun from 9:30 to 11:30 and 16 to 17:45. Fotos are normally not allowed inside of the chapel. Free attraction well worth visiting.

Drawn to relics in ancient cathedrals and churches, I'd read ahead about Corpus Domini and made a special trip to see Santa Katarina's full body relic. We were greeted by a beggar at the door who informed us the chapel holding the relic was closed, we went inside anyway, the beggar followed us in and sure enough it was closed.... More

This Church has two nice paintings of Carracci and several other ones. The entrance dates from the 15th Century. but the most interesting part of the church is the chapel with the sitting mummy of Sant Catherine of Bologna. Entrance to this chapel is open only a part of the day.

Saint Catherine of Bologna was a 15th century author, musician and painter as well as abbess. Her violetta, a type of small bowed string instrument can be seen in her chapel as well as other memorabilia. A visit to her chapel is an interesting experience and balances other aspects of a visit to Bologna.

The Baroque Church of Corpus Domini tucked away in a side street (Via Tagliapietre, just to the right of Via d’Azeglio when heading towards Porta d’Azeglio) five minutes from Piazza Maggiore is not one of the grandest or most famous of the churches in the city centre but it has a quiet charm of its own, with the Baroque interior...
