Smaller than Rome and Florence

Pretty modern and easy to get around. Much less hectic thank the larger cities. Tons of graffiti coming into the station though.

On entrance look for the small ticket dispenser outside the glass entrance to where you buy tickets in the manned kiosk. It's a bit like when you take a ticket in the supermarket first buying cheese or meat from the counter. Dispense yourself a paper ticket. This gets you into the queue. Watch for your matching number to appear on... More

Modern but built in sympathy with old Bologna. Trains are clean and timekeeping exemplary.. The signs are clear and informative for non Italian speakers.

As Italian railway stations go, this one is decent. Chaotic like most, this one is more or less better organized with all access at the same level. There are a few shops inside and the layout is properly done. 2 entrances.

The station is kept under strict control. It's not yet a retail shopping area but it's improving with the new openings of Kiko, Mac cosmetics and of the Vyta bar

(Italiano) Buon posto per viaggiare tra le citta' e' un buon bar al lato. C'e' anche un servizio bus tra la stazione e l'aeroporto, molto utile. (English) Good place for travelling between other cities in Italy, plus there's a nice cafe' to the side. There's also a very useful bus service which runs between the station and the airport.

We travelled from here every day of our weeks stay - we had booked our tickets in the UK and we had no trouble getting our trains and finding platforms etc - great station and the staff were so helpful.

I visited here today for about the third time. It is not the easiest place to find though. I wanted to buy some tickets so I stood in the queue and was given a number by the lady by the machine.i thought it would take ages as there were a good few people before me. After ten minutes or so... More

We decided to stick to public transportation on our two-week vacation in Italy. This is a well-organized station that also serves as the site for bus transportation (direct bus to the airport.) There are shops for quick snacks, plus information about arrival and departure train schedules. I highly recommend the direct train to Venice and the direct train to Ravenna.
