Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I used to leave in bologna and I now leave abroad. Because of the pandemic I decided to make some on line order as presents for my family.
One of the package arrived in unpresentable conditions 1 week later. One of the wine bottles was broken and the package was not changed, not an excuse.
The quality of the food in all the 3 package was far below the payed price: Parmiggiano Reggiano that should have been of the highest quality it could have been bought to the local supermarket at a 4th of the price. The same was for other things: the "best before" date of some things (like dry pasta) was just within a month proving that they used very old left overs...
Above all what is more annoying is that since I did the order I keep receiving a bunch of unwanted e-mails from sites I have never been in contact with (all food related). I can only deduct that (even if I checked the box I did not want to be informed about offers etc) my e-mail address have been passed over to other companies.

Great food store in central Bologna for Salumi, fresh pasta and other food products. If you are looking for the best balsamic vinegars, including some 150 years old, this is the place to go. The prices are not cheap but the quality is extremely high.

Tamburini is a local market and casual restaurant/bar selling groceries and serving local Bolognese cuisine.
It is a casual atmosphere and is more like cafe than a comfortable restaurant. The grocery side is connected to the cafe/bar side.
If you are a foodie you will appreciate it.

Tip 1: Be there on time when the self-service restaurant opens. Trust me, the crowd fills up very quickly.

Tip 2: Yes, you must get the mix anti-pasto and sliced meat plate (10 euros). You can get try different kind of cured meat (if you are meat-lover).

Tip 3: The tortellini ragu was a winner! It was just so amazing. I can't really describe the taste, it doesnt taste like the typical spaghette bolognese that we normally make at home. The ragu sauce was just very special and meaty.

Tip 4: Be daring and try their rabbit dish.

Tip 5: Prepare enough money because you will find yourself going back to the counter ordering more food in the end.

Tip 6: By the way, they have a microwave at the back of the restaurant, handy when you sip in too much wine and forgot about your food.

Terrible service here - super rude wait staff. We are friendly Canadians, and felt like they were overwhelmed by the volume of customers, and took it out on us. We came for the culatello, and thought it was overpriced and underwhelming.

Tamburini is famous... Ok... Their name is on every guidebook... Ok... but i think they started to forget that the most important thing about a place serving food is the service. The price they ask is really high for teh quality and 1 of the waiters attacked us because we asked for a normal service. I guess he is one of the owner. Maybe He have a lot of money so thats why he doesnt wanna work and serve!!!

He refused to serve because there were a lot customers. He deleted the order and when we asked him why he attacked. We were about to call the Police.

If you wanna wait a lot and eat prosciutto with a really high price go there- Totally Over rated !

Imagine the smell of authentic Italian meat and cheese, the gentle waft of an expensive ladies perfume, the overtones of a gentleman's cigar sitting at the other end of the restaurant. Now open your eyes and you find yourself on one of the barrels in the outdoor seating area of Tamburini. Every time we go to Bologna this is the first place we go to to eat. Get there early as the outside seating fills up very fast with locals and tourists alike. The house red is a gem and the whole ambience of the place stays in the mind long after you have left Italy and gone home. Thankfully I am back over there soon :-)

Just before heading home from Bologna, I stopped into Tamburini to load up on foodstuffs I could bring home. I thought the size and reputation of Tamburini would be a safeguard. I was interested in the salumeria, but hesitant because I believed it might not be allowed into the States. I expressed my hesitation to the sales person, who in pretty good English told me that the law had changed four or five years ago, and that vacuum-packed sausage was permissible. He sounded so confident about that, I went ahead and bought some salamella bolognese. Well, that sausage has probably already been incinerated by the U.S. Customs. I should have known better, but my mistake was relying on the Tamburini sales person to know what he was talking about. Hard to believe he would have lied to gain the €7.40 sale. But it was really annoying, especially because the sausage looked so good. Buyer beware, and informed.

Don't bother going there unless you are local / Italian. Delightfully Italy recommended this place as a joyous place to apertivo but failed to mention it's only applicable to the locals. We followed a recommendation from delightfully Italy but it failed to state that. We got a drink and....a bill!...enjoy at your own peril...instead try the local mercato Di mezza for lovely people food and drinks

Stay clear of this place. Things have actually gone worst since the last time i was here. I ssked for a quality Parma ham and i was served prosciutto so salted that i had to drink for the rest of the afternoon. I dont have any doubt that the fact i was talking in english with my wife made me a tourist and i was treated with incompetence. The slices of the prosciutto were so thick they were hardly chewable. Any other bolognese would have taken the poor food back. All the media coverage must have gono to their head. A much better choice is the shop, selling now to the bologna people, in the corner with Via pescherie Vecchie. AVOID TAMBURINI.
