Nice surprise such an extensive collection of pre, preta, Roman artifacts in what was a private villa. Views of the Ancona port and water sea. Need much more time to see all. See gold reproduction of Roman sculpture on top and again at the entrance....More

A must for anyone interested in archaeology. It is in a lovely building, and the pieces on display are interesting. The courtyard dominates over the harbour. Very close to the cathedral. A real must.

The museum is a bit difficult to walk through. It has some interesting sculptures made by Picen people, some 700 years before Christ.

Many thanks to the museum staff who gave me a breathless 3-hour-tour across the marvelous collection of this underrated museum. I'll come back next time I take a ferry from Ancona.
